His full name is James Earl Carter and he was born in 1 October 1924 in Plains, Georgia .He was usually doing farming, politics gossip Baptist faith since childhood. He grew up nearby in the community of Archery. His father James Earl Carter, Sr.h, businessman and farmer in profession and his mother, Lillian Gordy, a registered nurse. Early education was in the Plains public schools, and then took admission in Georgia Southwestern College and the Georgia Institute of Technology, and awarded as Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1946. After that doing work over nuclear physics in Union College He has done his graduation from Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, in 1946 , after that he get married with Rosalynn Smith. He had three sons John William (Jack), James Earl III (Chip), Donnel Jeffrey (Jeff), and a daughter, Amy Lynn. When he had came back after seven year Naval service , he joined politics in 1962 and after eight year he became Governor of Georgia. During his governor tenure he had work hard for improving ecology and removal racial barrier .
Being a naval officer he had placed many places of America and also Far East place. While he was in development of nuclear submarine program under Admiral Hyman Rickover , promoted to rank of lieutenant. After the death of father in 1953 he resigned his commission and returned to Plains. Then he started farming and his father business selling fertilizer . Then he stared his public life and join affairs of community and then working as chairman of school board and then in 1971 he became Georgia’s 76th governor . During governor ship he was selected as chairman of Southern Regional Education Board, the Appalachian Regional Commission, the Coastal Plains Regional Action Planning Commission, and the Southern Growth Policies Board. In 1974 he was Democratic National Committee chairman for congressional elections, on 12 dec 1974 he announced for his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination on December 12, 1974, and won party nomination in 1976 and won president election in November 1976. He worked as resident from January 20 , 1977 to January 20 1981. His accomplishments are Panama Canal treaties , Camp David Accords, the treaty of peace between Egypt and Israel, the SALT II treaty with the Soviet Union, and the establishment of U.S. diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China.
Carter started his President campaign in December 1974 and after two year successful campaign he get enough support and at the Democratic Convention, he was nominated on the first ballot. Senator Walter F. Mondale of Minnesota was chosen my him as running mate . His campaign was hard against Gerald R. Ford, debating with him three times but finally he won 297 electoral votes to 241 for Ford. His fight economic inflation and unemployment makes his shiny image which be substantial milestone by providing near about 8 million new jobs and control over inflation by polices at the end of his president ship but due to higher interest rate the inflation again came with power . He had made many achievements while domestic affairs is concerns , he fight with energy shortage and made national energy policy and made steps for controlling petroleum prices to stimulate production .He also worked for civil services reform and regulation of trucking and airlines services . Doing some efforts for environment and social welfare , expend national park system and protect 103 million Alaskan lands for this . Created Department of Education, bolstered the Social Security system, and appointed record numbers of women, blacks, and Hispanics to Government jobs. Also doing work for better foreign services . His work for human rights greatly appreciated by Soviet Union and other nations. In the Middle East, through the Camp David agreement of 1978, he helped bring amity between Egypt and Israel. Succeeded for rectifying Panama Canal treaties also making good relations with Republic of China and completed negotiation of the SALT II nuclear limitation treaty with the Soviet Union. But there were certain falls which are seen by Carter also like Soviet invasion of Afghanistan resulted suspension of SALT II pack .
